Best Defensive approach
Volleyball is a highly smashing game. Whenever you think about the volleyball game, you always make a sketch of a player who is smashing the volleyball at 100 MPH.
But do you ever think about a player, who is receiving this smash with a smile 🙂
Hold your beer! Mr. Libero is waiting for that particular moment in short.
The idea is to clear your mind that a smash of volleyball cannot be answered with another smash.
First, it needs to be stopped with great defense, then you have to smash the volleyball again into the opponent’s court.
So if you are thinking of becoming a libero in volleyball, make sure that you are best in the defense system.
Proactive approach
Don’t only rely on defending the volleyball. That’s the one side of the picture.
On the other hand, the libero also has a huge responsibility that the ball should not touch the floor of the court.
At one instance you have to stop the volleyball, but on a second instance you have to move so quickly if some of your team players have dropped the volleyball.
Make sure it doesn’t touch the surface.
This is how it is such an important position. At the same time you have to be 100% active and fit mentally and physically as well.
Dedicated Team player
“Ever tried? Ever failed. No matter. Try again. Fail again. Fail better.”
Momentum is the most important part for any volleyball player. Even if you are losing, you have to build up the momentum of your team at every point.
You never know in sports what the turning point of your game is.
One good smash, one good solid defense, or one long jump can turn the game on its cards.
So you have to build the team by giving your 100% on the court. This is only possible when you are dedicated and a team player as well.
So now you are able to understand how important is libero in football. Libero is the backbone of the volleyball game.
So now you are pretty clear about the libero in volleyball and their position as well.
Libero cannot start the game. The players that are lined up on the court are required to start the game.
No doubt they are back-row players, but they can still come forward and attack the ball.
Let me also tell you some interesting facts about libero.
These are some Personal tips created by my own team members of volleyball
Caution
This is purely my point of view. You can disagree with me at the same time.
Also, I am going to explain from a more practical perspective. So if you are not a regular volleyball player, you can neglect this.
But I would recommend you to read this. It can be highly beneficial for you if you are new or pro as well.
So Don’t worry! If you are still confused, let me explain in a more simple way about volleyball libero
What does the libero do in volleyball ?
So first of all the role of the libero is basically to keep the ball off the floor so the attacker’s job is to hit it and try to put the ball on the floor.
The overall role of the libero is to be the main vocal leader in the backcourt and if you are a libero, then your job is to simply take charge back there by communicating loud and early
leading in a great example of some showing some grit and effort for every play.
In my opinion, it’s important to really lead by example,
just showing a lot of effort running down balls and sacrificing your body a little bit to try to make the play as simple.
it’s just best to be consistent with your execution effort and energy.
What are the rules of the libero ?
Well personally, I don’t count as a sub. Iibero wears a different-colored jersey that means that he can go in and out anytime would like to.
Iibero can’t play front row so libero is basically not the person that’s going to go up and spike the ball so I’m obviously the shorter person who’s going to return it.
obviously, libero specializes in defense and serves to receive.
so the libero should always be wearing a contrasting jersey to their teammates to make them stand out more; they’re restricted to perform as a back-row player.
Also as a team, we are not able to block or attack when the ball is above the plane of the net a hitter may not jump an attack
Let me give you a real example with my game, if I were to set the ball with my hands in front of the 10-foot line if that were the case they’d have to stay on the ground
so that was why so often you’ll see bros using their platform when they’re in front or simply jumping and off one leg to try to avoid the 10-foot line
Why do you use a libero and how does subbing work ?
a coach is limited to 15 substitutions per set per ncaa rules the libero substitutions don’t count towards those 15.
most of the time the libero is used in the rotation of middle blockers on a team when a middle rotates to the back row you might sub in the libero to serve for them and play some backcourt defense
when the second middle blocker comes back to serve the first middle will switch again with the libero and play in the front row this is just one scenario
replacements with the bro often involve just switching in and out they don’t count as actual substitutions
soyou’re limited to the amount.
One of the rules with this is when you make your switch you always have to be behind the 10 foot line.
i’m not really sure why but that’s one of the big things that we have to remember as we’re running in and out and then we’re only usually out for only a half rotation.
when the second middle serve so obviously we can’t serve for both middles so whenever the second one rotates back there we come out for that point or two or whatever and then come back in
Quick overview about Libero
As a Volleyball player, I am writing this to convey my thoughts.
so a little recap the libero is a designated back-row player they’re typically the best passer on the team they wear a different color uniform and don’t count towards official substitutions
and they often get the first touch position where they can pass most of the hits from opponents.
the libero position though has a lot to love about it for me
I’ve loved this position ever since I was young and I first started playing I love getting to control the first contact of every play
I just really enjoy the feeling of getting a huge dig and frustrating the heck out of the opposing hitters I think it’s pretty exhilarating and it’s really fun the reason that i love being libero is I can be the supporting role
so I’m not the spotlight I’m not the person who gets the big kill but I’m also the person that can aid my teammates to do their job
so my number one goal is to help those around me be the best they that they can be I think I embrace this role and position a lot by constantly hyping up my teammates and hitters
I think it’s important to celebrate everyone’s everyone else’s successes, especially in a team sport like this. I think it’s huge to really recognize the effort and hard work of your teammates and celebrate that in the middle of a game.
when games get tough and games get big just like still when you’re completely wiped finding that energy to celebrate others is huge and it really helps the team rally and keeps that momentum but yeah overall
I love this position. I think it’s so fun and really knowing that I’m putting my position, my teammates, in a position to succeed and score a point is the greatest feeling ever
